Potential Migrants: CAIMAT Trains, Empowers 450 Youths on Skills Aquisition

By Osariemen Idiaghe. Creation of Alternatives to Irregular Migration and Human Trafficking Project,(CAIMAT) says it has trained and empowered 450 youths on different skills. The director of Project, Saliu Aidorolo disclosed this at a press briefing in Benin City, Edo state capital. He said the 450 beneficiaries were divided into 30 groups which comprises of 15 beneficiaries per cooperative adding that the cooperatives have been registered with the state government. He revealed that the success of the project depended on the realisation of three expected results of creating economic alternatives through equipping 450 potential Migrants with necessary capacities and means to start up adding that the project will continue to monitor the cooperatives and support them to make economically sustainable. Mr Aidorolo said the project is also aimed at increasing awarenesses on the dangers of irregular migration as most victims are deceived by their traffickers . ...
