 Edo 2024: Barrister Olumide Akpata Emerge LP Candidate. By Osariemen Idiaghe The former President of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Barrister Olumide Akpata has been elected candidate of the Labour Party (LP), for the September 21 governorship election in Edo State. He polled 316 votes to defeat other aspirants. The declared result showed that Barr. Kenneth Imansuangbon scored 7 votes, Professor Sunday Eromosele 7 votes, Sergius Ogun 4.  The chief returning officer of the election and Deputy Governor of Abia state, Engr.  Subsidy Removal Palliative: Edo Residents Commend Governor Obaseki’s Free Transport Services  Edo state residents  has continued to praise  Governor Godwin Obaseki  for providing free transportation for all residents who ply Edo State Transport Services (ECTS)  which is meant to cushion  the effect of subsidy removal . Reports  gathered revealed that Edo City Transport Service commenced the free transport scheme since  11th of September 2023 for inter and intra city passengers across the State.
